Hello friends!
Just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know MANDRILL P.I. Issue #6 is live!
Super excited to share this issue with you. It’s chock full of mystery, action, thrills, and so much more! And if you missed out on any of the previous issues, now's the perfect chance to get caught up!
Issue #6 marks the thrilling conclusion to the first story arc. The deadly mad scientist unleashes giant-sized danger on MANDRILL P.I. and Ernie Elephant. Will our heroes finally defeat the villain, or will they fall prey to his gigantic mandrill-crushing monster?
There's tons of variant covers (and metal covers!) by some amazing superstar artists.
And that's not all! Here's 2 more reasons to back day 1:
That's right! If you're a returning backer, cheers to you! Back at a physical level and receive your very own sticker with art by Issue 5 variant cover artist, David Hartman.
Back at a physical level by November 29th to get your hands on this amazing sticker with art by returning cover artist, Core Lo! That's two exclusive stickers for backing on day 1!
Your early pledge is vital for this campaign's success, even if it’s as little as $1. Anything matters, because the more backers we have, the more Kickstarter’s algorithm goes to work getting us in front of a wider audience (all of which will result in more stretch goal unlocks to make rewards even cooler)! And if you would share the project on your social feeds, it would make me the happiest guy in the whole world.
Thanks again for your support in bringing this grumpy little cartoon mandrill to life!
We're fulfilled! And a cover reveal :)

1) The Dust Bunnies Holiday Hits by BRET JULIANO
My friend Bret is back with more Dust Bunny Mafia--just in time for the holidays! And this time, he's creating a parody music album.
Back in the late fall of 2016, he created a one-off gag-style comic for the Dust Bunny Mafia Christmas special where Jimmy the Nose and Frankie the Force are selling a Greatest Hits CD, all about the best mafia Christmas songs, such as Scarface is Coming to Town and Grandma Got Run Over by a Town Car.
This campaign has him continuing this idea, fleshing it out into a digital album with fully written song lyrics and a limited edition holiday ornament.
Joseph is back with another fabulous issue of his hit comic, Superheresies Showcase. This issue focuses on 1940s public domain superheroines returning to face supernatural threats.
While there were women superheroes in comic books during the 1930s and 1940s, most faded into obscurity, many falling into the public domain. But Joseph brought several back in his SUPERHERESIES line - a world in which public domain heroes of the 1930s and 1940s never went away but lived full lives and aged in real time!

Check your inbox, because digital rewards have been sent!
I sent out digital rewards yesterday evening ... and then promptly forgot to hit send on this update. Yes, I know, I'm the worst :(
Everyone who finished their survey should have received an email from Backerkit with links to your digital rewards. Huzzah!
If you didn't receive yours, it may have landed in your spam folder. If you can't find it, please message me or email me at [email protected], and I'll get them to you right away. And if you're missing anything from your digital rewards, please don't hesitate to email me and I'll get it fixed right away!
Also, I received the print proofs from Comic Impressions this week, and I've approved them. The book looks great, and as soon as the physical copies arrive, I'll begin shipping out the physical rewards. All other physical items have arrived at my place, including pins, stickers, metal cover comics, and magnets.
And in other awesome news:
Issue #6 marks the thrilling conclusion to the first story arc. The deadly mad scientist unleashes giant-sized danger on MANDRILL P.I. and Ernie Elephant. Will our heroes finally defeat the villain, or will they fall prey to his gigantic mandrill-crushing monster?
We would love for you to follow our pre-launch Kickstarter page. Clicking the link below and then tapping "Notify me on launch" on the Kickstarter page will help ensure we have the strongest launch possible. We're planning to launch in November after I've fulfilled the physical rewards from issue #5.
Note: clicking the "notify" button in NO WAY obligates you to back the project on launch, but it does help with the Kickstarter algorithms and is vital to the project's success. And this author will love you forever if you do so :)
Love horror comics? Well, I’ve got some great news for you! Nightmare Theatre 3-D is coming your way on Halloween!

Surveys incoming! Oh, and don't forget ...
– Tue, Oct 10, 2023 at 05:01:54 PM
Before I jump into survey info, I want to remind you so you don't miss out:
Time is nearly out to snag the exclusive crossover print between MANDRILL P.I. and TURNER FAMILY TERRORS with art by MANDRILL P.I. artist Carlos Trigo!
And all you've gotta do to get the print is back both campaigns (if you back both digitally, you'll get the hi-res file; back physically, and you'll get the physical version). Can't wait to send it your way :)
Good News: BackerKit has approved the fulfillment survey!
It's super important that you complete your survey ASAP when you see it show up in your inbox. Among other things, this is how I'll know what name to use in the "thank you" section in the back of the book (and, of course, where to send your rewards...).
I'm going to need to set a deadline ofOctober17 if you want to ensure your name gets placed in the"thank you" section in the back of the digitalversion (if you don't respond by then, I'll just use your first name or Kickstarter handle--no worries!); feel free to reach out if getting it done by then will be a problem.
Just a heads up that the first thing BackerKit requires is something called a Smoke Test, which is where a random 5% of backers across all pledge levels get the survey link. This is to ensure that it works properly.
Thus, some of you will receive the email with a special link to your BackerKit survey immediately, while the rest of you will get yours about a day later. Please check your spam/junk boxes if you don't see the email in your Inbox in the next couple days.
Also, there’s no need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. Just click the link to fill out the survey when you receive the email. Answer the questions about your rewards, provide shipping information (if you chose physical items), and purchase add-on items if there are any that you fancy.
Please fill out the survey as soon as you see it come through. This way I can begin fulfilling orders right away.
Thanks again for backing this book! I've placed the order for the physical comics (waiting on print proofs right now), and I've placed the orders for all the additional items (prints, pins, magnets, etc.), and these have begun arriving at my place. This puts us on track to fulfill the physical rewards by sometime in November and the digital rewards before the end of the month.
I'm super excited with our progress, and I can't wait to send you your rewards!
